  7. Extract the archive and read ReadMe.1st before proceeding.  This release
  8. of Yak contains a couple of new features, and a few bug-fixes (including
  9. the ClickToFront enforcer hit).
  10.  
  11. For those of you that don't know yak, here's the start of Yak.doc:
  12.  
  13. Yak stands for "Yet Another Kommodity" (never was any good at speling), and
  14. is a mouse/window manipulation program along the same lines as DMouse,
  15. MightyMouse etc.
  16.  
  17. Why write another one? None of the others (and I've looked at almost all of
  18. them) were quite right for me. Yak has the following features:
  19.  
  20.     - AutoPoint (sunmouse) that only activates when mouse stops;
  21.           can also specify which screens to include/exclude.
  22.       (Compatible with popup-menu type programs)
  23.  
  24.     - AutoPop windows (bring them to front) when they're
  25.           auto-activated; 
  26.  
  27.     - KeyActivate windows (when key pressed);
  28.  
  29.     - Click windows to front or back;
  30.       may also specify which screens/windows to include/exclude.
  31.  
  32.     - Cycle screens with mouse;
  33.  
  34.     - Mouse and Screen blanking (hotkey blanking too);
  35.  
  36.     - Close/Zip/Shrink/Enlarge windows with programmable hotkeys;
  37.  
  38.     - Cycle screens and windows from keyboard;
  39.  
  40.     - Activate Workbench by hotkey (to get at menus when WB obscured);
  41.  
  42.     - Center frontmost screen by pressing a hotkey;
  43.  
  44.     - Pop up a palette on front screen (requires reqtools.library);
  45.  
  46.     - Insert date in custom format (requires locale.library in WB2.1);
  47.  
  48.     - KeyClick with adjustable volume;
  49.  
  50.     - PopCommand key for starting a command (like PopCLI);
  51.  
  52.     - Wildstar option (like StarBurst) lets you use '*' as wildcard.
  53.  
  54.     - Optional on-screen AppIcon to bring up preferences window.

  64. Yak is freely redistributable, copyrighted software. The source is included,
  65. and you are permitted to modify it for personal use, but any modifications
  66. made must NOT be distributed. If you have made changes you think others
  67. would like, send them to me and I'll include them in future versions.

  69. Although Yak is freeware, donations would be gladly accepted, either money
  70. or stuff you've written yourself. I would be grateful if you would let me
  71. know if you use Yak, so I can judge whether it's worth releasing upgrades.

  77.  v1.4    - Range-checking now performed on number-gadgets.

  79.     - NewLookMenus for WB 3.0.

  81.  v1.3f    * Settings window now font-sensitive (uses screen font).

  83.     * ScreenToBack by mouse-clicks now activates first window on front
  84.           screen when no window is under mouse (this helps programs like
  85.           MagicMenu).

  87.     * Screen blanking now opens screen with same displaymode as front
  88.           one.

  90.     - Further mouse-blanking bug removed.

  92.     - Conflicts between window-cycle hotkey and key activation
  93.           resolved, although they don't really go well together.

  95.     - Window-cycle (via hotkey) now also cycles Workbench windows; when
  96.           initially written, Yak emulated IHelp's (CBM OS2.0) function of
  97.           cycling application windows only, but I get so many reports from
  98.           people saying that this function doesn't work, I figured folks
  99.           really want to cycle ALL windows.

  101.     - More enforcer-hits removed (oh I wish I had an 030 etc., then I
  102.           could fix these all by myself, instead of relying on others
  103.           informing me).
